Genius BCBSM 5010 Update 2/17/2012

Today, 2/17/2012, clients are reporting "A022 BLUE SHIELD PROVIDER CODE IS MISSING" edits.

You might remember BCBSM having this same error message on 1/26/2012's Broadcast message.

We have called BCBSM, but could only get a ticket number at this time as they are currently looking into the problem.  Their initial advice is do not rebill at this time, and look for a Broadcast Message explaining what to do soon.


Medicare 5010 Update

Well DarkCloud Mark is pleasantly surprised that people have been reporting Medicare in 5010 seems to work just fine.  Support is also reporting no unsolved problems at this time.  Worst seems to be Individual/Group NPI setting for a couple of clients, but so far they seem to be easy to set correctly in THOMAS for 5010 if you get rejections.  So go ahead and try a few Medicare claims in the new 5010 if you have not already.


Commercial and DME 5010 Update

Well, BCBSM is still not accepting Commercial or DME claims in the new 5010 format.  Unofficially I'm hearing "soon", but the last official word I got was "before April 1".  I'm hoping it's soon so people can finally do everything in 5010.

5010 going so bad that HHS is going to delay ICD-10?
