Posting insurance carrier payments is as simple as charge entry. When you start using this function you will wonder why you did not purchase eTHOMAS sooner. As you post your insurance payments, eTHOMAS will memorize the co-pay and payment from the carrier. With this feature turned on, posting charges and payments is incredibly fast and accurate as eTHOMAS uses the most recently memorized payments, co-pays and write-offs to complete the payment screen without a single keystroke. Imagine proceeding to the posting payment screen and having it already completed for you. Would that save you time? We think so as do the numerous eTHOMAS users that take advantage of this feature.
You also have the flexibility to modify the values on the posting screen if it does not match the voucher. This difference could be valid or, invalid; however, it raises a flag to determine why you are paid two different amounts for the same procedure.
Going a step further, the next time you post charges, the co-pay is automatically populated on the charge screen and you have the ability to collect the co-pay while the patient is in your office. There is no better time than the present to collect that payment and minimize patient statements.
Posting payments is a wizard-like process. As you enter the allowed amount the write-off or participating adjustment is calculated for you. When you key the paid amount, the patient co-pay is calculated and automatically transferred to the patient balance, allowing you to create patient statements. Secondary claims are automatically processed in a similar fashion.
