A Smarter Way To Prescribe
User-friendly RxNT does more than just let you send your prescriptions electronically. It will also assist both you, the provider, and your patients by aiding in the selection of generic drugs (when possible), monitoring for drug interactions, and allowing you to see what other providers have prescribed for your patients. Electronic prescription submission also speeds up the processing of prescription pick up for the waiting patient, cuts back on prescription forgeries, and saves you time and money in processing, checking, calling back, and confirming prescriptions. Best of all, RxNT "learns" as you go which will save typing time on subsequent prescriptions. The more you use it, the smarter RxNT gets about your prescribing preferences and practices.
Manage Prescriptions Safely, Quickly, And Easily
The tasks associated with writing and renewing prescriptions cause physicians to sacrifice time, money, and safety.
Here are the facts:
Time The average physician writes 30 prescriptions a day and handles another 30 refill requests.
Expense The typical pharmacy callback costs physician practices $5-$7 to pull and review the chart and return the call.
Safety Thanks largely to legibility problems; prescription orders must be confirmed at the pharmacy level in almost 40 percent of cases.
These are just a few of the many reasons to implement the secure RxNT electronic prescription writing service. The evidence is clear. Studies show that more than 80% of physicians improve delivery of care, and two-thirds say it helps improve their personal efficiency. Hospital-based studies report that e-prescribing can reduce errors by 50% or more, and yet another study indicates that 45% of e-prescribing physicians immediately increase compliance with formulary guidelines.
Technical Specifications:
RxNT is versatile in meeting the needs of medical professionals and their practices. The application runs on multiple wired and wireless devices. It operates on Palms, Pocket PC, Smartphones and web browsers. The RxNT support services will be able to assist you with installing RxNT and integrating it with THOMAS over the phone.

About SEMI
SEMI is the Southeastern Michigan e-prescribe initiative. This program was started in February 2005 to help combat rising healthcare costs for the insurance companies and the big three automakers by reducing waste, inaccuracy, time, and mistakes in patient prescription care. As a result, GM, Ford, and DaimlerChrysler got together with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM), the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), Health Alliance Plan (HAP), and the United Automobile Workers (UAW) and SEMI was born.
About SureScripts
The Pharmacy Health Information Exchange™, operated by SureScripts, is the largest network to securely link electronically between pharmacies and physicians. Founded in 2001, “SureScripts does not develop, sell or endorse specific electronic prescribing software. Instead, SureScripts works with software companies that supply electronic health record (EHR) and electronic prescribing applications to physician practices and pharmacy technology vendors to connect their solutions to the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, operated by SureScripts.” At this time, more than 95 percent of all pharmacies and all major physician technology vendors in the United States are certified through the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange.
